BACKGROUND
Here’s some more details from its designer on how it came about:
“The idea to create a junior chair came from a couple of key realisations.
The first was that, for a piece of furniture that feels quite temporary, a junior chair often remains in your home for a surprisingly long time. They’re useful from around age 3 up to at least 8 years old—that’s a minimum of five years. If you have more than one child, it will likely be passed down, meaning you might have a junior chair at your dining table for 8 to 10 years. That’s nearly a decade of daily visibility, so why not make it an attractive addition to your dining space?
The second realisation was the lack of choice on the market. While there are countless high chairs for the early years, there’s very little available for the next stage.”

Q: How high is the seat?
A: The seat is 53cm from the ground, Standard dining chairs are around 45cm.
Q: Do you have any stock?
A: All our furniture is made to order rather than mass produced. We occasionally have a few available and will indicate in the shop if any are available.
Q: Can you make one in mahogany?
A: If our local timber supplier has it in stock, then we can make the chair in something different as long as it is appropriate. Sapele, for example, is a more sustainable and readily available alternative.
Q: Can you change the design to match our dining chairs even closer?
A: Yes. We’d need to see photos of your exact chairs. The price will be higher though, as designing a new chair from scratch is a time consuming process. One off chairs are not very efficient to make but we can do it and we offer bespoke furniture as.an option.
